Bauermeister Universal Laboratory Mills offer many solutions for the fine and superfine grinding of soft to medium-hard substances. They can be configured to operate as turbo mills, pin mills, cross beater arm mills or pinned disc mills, by the simple exchange of the grinding elements. Furthermore, the use of a frequency invertor on the drive motor allows infinite variation of tip speed between 40 and 120 m/s to suit both mill configuration and substance being ground. Raw products is uniformly fed into the grinding chamber via a dosing chute and mill inlet fitted with a permanent magnet; the finished product is collected in a stainless steel receiving hopper, the air being released through a filter hose. Feedstock can range in size between 3 and 8 mm; the fineness of the finished product is dependent upon the charcteristics of the substance being ground, as well as operational settings of the mill. The drive unit comprises a 3-phase-motor, on the shaft of which are mounted the rotating grinding elements; only a single-phase A.C. electric supply is, however, necessary as the 3-phase current is generated in the switchgear cabinet.
A digital indication of tip speed is disp.layed on the control panel. All electrical equipment 1s normally supplied to IP 54 Standard, but this can be upgraded to E Ex-DE II BT 5 Explosion Proof
Rating upon request. Bauermeister Laboratory Mills can also be equipped as Cold Grinding Plants, using L-CO2 or L-N2; in addition, inert gas protection is also possible.
